Staying Motivated as a Filmmaker

Making films at any level is difficult. Epecially when you are starting out. We all have struggles.

1. Learn the backstory of influential filmmakers. While it looks like they had instant sucess, the real story is more than likely that they too endured trials and tribulations. You are NOT alone.

2. Surround yourself with other filmmakers. If you are the only one that you know doing what you do, it's easy to get deflated. Learn from each other, help each other and stoke those creative fires.

3. Do something EVERYDAY. No matter how small. Keep moving the ball forward.

4. Make up side projects. If you are working on a big project that's taking a long time, make something smaller to keep yourself motivated.

5. JUST DO IT! Jump in, start doing it. Everyday make small steps, keep moving. Even if you are moving in the wrong direction, keep learning, keep growing, keep moving.
